One of the most beautiful views of Portland. definitely sit outside on a summer night. Pasta with a lobster cream sauce was excellent. I split this dish with my mother and it was a perfect portion. New York sirloin was horrible. my partner had this and he said the meat tasted old, no flavor and overcooked. The baked potato was cold and the string beans looked like they were canned and not fresh. too much money and horrible quality. i would recommend going for a drink and having an appetizer only.

Friends back in town, we figured what better way to celebrate than with a water view at the Saltwater Grill. A mistake, we would learn. Our outside reservation turned into an inside table, the waitress, although somewhat nice seemed to care less about being there, rather just going through the motions. The beer came out at room temperature. Two members of our party orders the filet for $38 cooked medium both came out very rare and were sent back. Upon return the steaks were still completely rare and now everyone was almost finished eating. The most incredible rip off off the night was the poached lobster tail which you could add onto the fillet for a "mere" $19. It appeared someone had poached the rest of it because the shrimp in a pasta dish was larger. A complete deception!!!! Save you money and go someplace else. This place needs their food to match their prices!

Go for the view. The food is just meh.

Yeah so prosciutto is supposed to be shaved not cut like a ham steak. Your patrons will not be returning if they lose fillings gnawing on a hunk of aged ham.

Salt Water is a nice, spacious restaurant across the water from Portland, Maine. There is a great view of the wharf from the huge windows in the dining room. There is a strong focus on seafood. My food was pretty good, but not particularly memorable. I liked the ambiance most. The dining area is comfortable, and there was live music happening in one of the areas while we were there. This would be a good spot to come during warmer seasons - relax and have a drink or slow dinner and take advantage of the huge deck.
